WSJ: Huawei gets an unexpected ally
The Wall Street Journal has reported, that US Treasury and Defense Departments are currently fighting for Huawei interest. Namely, the institutions are pushing back against the ban of the Chinese company from the market.
The ban has been proposed by Commerce Department. Now it has decided to cancel out the proposal, that can potentially further complicate any forms of partnership between the American companies and Huawei. Mark Esper - the Defense Secretary - has claimed that they are currently working on establishing “the balance” and keeping up the supply lines of tech companies.
Previously, Huawei has been effectively banned from US market over accusations of stealing data and collaborating with Chinese government. It is also losing access to the American tech, including the essential Android services.
