Twitter adds emojis to DMs
Emojis can be accessed by pressing the heart+ button or by two taps on the message. They express the basic palette of reactions: shock, joy, laughter, thumbs up, thumbs down etc. There are some changes however, made by Twitter to keep the design on brand. The platform has teased the new feature only a few hours before its release.
Other major social media had emojis in messaging for a while. So Twitter’s update might be considered another step in its attempt to substitute Facebook. Last year the company had a big desktop version redesign, which has often been compared to Facebook’s News Feed.
