Juul customers file over 2,000 complaints over health damage from product use
Manufacturer of electronic cigarettes Juul Labs has received over 2,600 complaints from customers about health problems in the first three years of operation, reports Bloomberg, citing data from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
However, a representative of Juul called the number of complaints "very low". "“We take product safety very seriously and implement stringent quality control measures to ensure the safety of all our products," Juul said.
The company's internal database has registered almost 1.3 million complaints between 1 June 2015 and 26 September 2018. The percentage of health-related complaints is about 0.2%.
At the end of the summer of 2019, a producer of e-cigarettes faced problems due to a series of mass diseases among vip smokers in the United States. In September 2019 the FDA accused Juul of spreading misleading advertising. After that, Juul's CEO resigned.
