Huawei wants to place Google services in AppGallery, its own app store
Huawei expressed its desire to host Google services in its own app store. The installation of this software on the company's smartphones is prohibited since last year.
In May 2019, Huawei was "blacklisted" by the U.S. Department of Commerce. Because of this, the new smartphones of the company have not received the necessary certification to install Google services. This also applies to the latest flagship of the P40 series.
Huawei's top manager Eric Xu told CNBC that the company hopes that Google applications will be available in AppGallery, Huawei's own app store. Xu said that the services of the American company can be placed in AppGallery just like in the App Store.
Last month, Google applied to the U.S. authorities for permission to cooperate with Huawei. Even if the request is approved, it will still be a long time before partnership.
