Space startup switches to sanitizer and mask production

3D-printed masks are coming to mass production.
Scottish rocket building startup Skyrora is switching to sanitizer production. The company joins the effort of UK’s private sector to secure the supply of the necessary equipment for the national healthcare system.
The company has stated, that all of its workforce is now working on the pandemic response. Skyrora has already manufactured the first sanitizer batch according to the WHO recommendations. Now the startup plans to boost the production to more than 10 000 bottles weekly.
Before the pandemic the company has been busy with preparing its spacecraft for the launch to the orbit. In February Skyrora has carried out a successful test of its engine that uses an eco-friendly fuel.
The startup is also discussing a possibility of using its 3D-printing resources for the production of face masks with the Scottish government. The prototypes are already in testing. After the tests Skyrora might launch mass production.
