Google and Huawei started paying compensation to owners of defective smartphones after many years
In 2017, Nexus 6P users filed a class action against the creators of the device because of defects in it. A few years later Google and Huawei finally started paying compensation to the owners of defective smartphones.
The lawsuit stated that smartphones are constantly being rebooted. The problem was related to overheating of Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Last year, Google and Huawei agreed to settle the dispute. The owners of Nexus 6P started getting money only now. Users from the U.S. who bought a smartphone on September 25, 2015 and later can claim compensation.
Owners who have encountered problems will receive up to US$400. And those who participated in the lawsuit but did not encounter any problems are entitled to receive US$29.
